Overview

Experienced technical writer/ instructional designer needed to produce user-friendly, effective system operations guides, user guides, data sheets, training material and technical system manuals. Technical writer partners with stakeholders in order to gather information and compiles material used by internal and external audiences. Materials will address the needs of multiple user groups for a new enterprise product line.

Responsibilities

Key Deliverables:

  • Product marketing materials in support of new feature and capability launches in Q3 and Q4 2017
  • End to end development, design, and creation of product briefs, training materials, and sales support materials
  • Timely updates to technical product documentation, such as Service Guide and Certified Library
  • End to end development and creation of technical use cases
  • Product process documentation
  • End to end development and creation of detailed pre-sales, post-sales, and customer support process documents
  • Product proposals
  • Development and creation of product proposal templates that reflect new capabilities and offers
  • Analysis of competitive, market, and customer data to improve marketing collateral, process and technical documents
  • Timely dissemination and effective communication of created content via on-line tools
  • Knowledge management
  • Creation of content repository that can be easily searched and delivered to relevant internal and external audiences

Qualifications

Skills Required:

  • 3+ years’ working in the telecommunications and IT industries – must be comfortable with basic networking concepts (e.g., WAN, Ethernet, VPN, SDN, NFV, etc.) and enterprise software concepts (e.g., virtual machines, hypervisors, operating systems, etc.)
  • 3+ years’ experience writing Technical Product guides
  • 3+ years’ experience creating Product Marketing collateral (e.g., product briefs, marketing presentation, etc.)
  • 3+ years’ experience reviewing and re-engineering business and technical work flow processes
  • Expert knowledge of Vision, Adobe, and Flash
  • Expert knowledge of creating and editing PDF documents
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft productivity suite
  • Experience creating online documents, including HTML
    • Ability to understand technically complex issues and put in simple terms
    • Ability to coordinate requirements with diverse, multi-functional team members
    • Ability to collaborate with project managers, developers, and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision
    • Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
    • Excellent written, verbal communication, and analytical skills

     

    Basic Qualifications:

    Resources must have Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in experience and at least 3-5 years of experience in the Telecommunications/IT Industry
