Overview

The main objective of the Information Security Analyst is to provide ongoing operational support for Group O’s information security program - ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Group O information systems. The analyst will interact with various Group O teams throughout the organization as well as security product vendors and managed security service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, monitor, and respond to threats against Group O informations systems
  • Monitor and respond to security alerts from SIEM, Antivirus, IPS/IDS and other security technologies
  • Monitor, maintain and report on the health of Group O security technology solutions
  • Provide program support to the Information Security Office
  • Coordinate Malware and Virus removal and tracking with IT Help Desk personnel
  • Monitor and report on patch management status
  • Perform, monitor and report on internal vulnerability assessments using provided security tools
  • Perform incident response services when applicable following a documented incident response policy
  • Support the Information Security Office in ongoing quality and compliance initiatives by working with audit staff to maintain documentation and report on status
  • Coordinate with outsourced security providers where functions overlap

Qualifications

  • Education:       
    • Bachelor’s degree in IT discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Training:           
    • Documented information security training, preferably with certification or the intent of certification (SANS, CISSP, etc.)
  • Skills:
    • Experience analyzing network/systems threats that are identified with a variety of security technologies and processes
    • Familiarity with basic incident response steps
    • Problem-solving skills – ability to identify solutions to problems through analysis and research
    • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
    • Desire for continuous learning and professional/personal development
    • Proficient in business applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and Visio
  • Experience:

    • 2-4 years IT experience
