Overview

Group O is searching for a Purchasing Associate to join our team! The Purchasing Associate is responsible for monitoring supply & demand in order to procure material to meet operational business requirements.

Responsibilities

 

  • Primary Tasks
    • Utilizing ERP to review and monitor material demand
    • Performing analysis of current inventory supply and open existing purchase orders for replenishment
    • Requesting purchase quotes (as required)
    • Generating and submitting purchase orders
    • Working with suppliers on target and expedited delivery dates
    • Monitoring and communicating status of back orders to internal operations
    • Working with suppliers on mis-shipments or shortages
    • Coordinating between suppliers and Quality department on non-conforming material

  • Secondary Tasks
    • Generating reports as requested

    • Working with accounting department on supplier invoice discrepancies

    • Assisting in physical inventories or cycle counts (as required)

Qualifications

 Experience:

  • Minimum two years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills:

  • Purchasing and accounting knowledge
  • Understanding of inventory management practices and procedures
  • Basic user abilities in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn and work with Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) software
  • Ability to follow work instructions and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent math skills
  • Problem solving ability
  • Ability to sit for an extended period of time

Education:

  • High school degree or equivalent (Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred)
